وَلَآ اَقُوْلُ لَكُمْ عِنْدِيْ خَزَاۤىِٕنُ اللّٰهِ وَلَآ اَعْلَمُ الْغَيْبَ وَلَآ اَقُوْلُ اِنِّيْ مَلَكٌ وَّلَآ اَقُوْلُ لِلَّذِيْنَ تَزْدَرِيْٓ اَعْيُنُكُمْ لَنْ يُّؤْتِيَهُمُ اللّٰهُ خَيْرًا ۗ اَللّٰهُ اَعْلَمُ بِمَا فِيْٓ اَنْفُسِهِمْ ۚاِنِّيْٓ اِذًا لَّمِنَ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ ٣١
- walā
- وَلَآ
- And not
- aqūlu
- أَقُولُ
- I say
- lakum
- لَكُمْ
- to you
- ʿindī
- عِندِى
- (that) with me
- khazāinu
- خَزَآئِنُ
- (are the) treasures
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- walā
- وَلَآ
- and not
- aʿlamu
- أَعْلَمُ
- I know
- l-ghayba
- ٱلْغَيْبَ
- the unseen
- walā
- وَلَآ
- and not
- aqūlu
- أَقُولُ
- I say
- innī
- إِنِّى
- that I am
- malakun
- مَلَكٌ
- an Angel
- walā
- وَلَآ
- and not
- aqūlu
- أَقُولُ
- I say
- lilladhīna
- لِلَّذِينَ
- for those whom
- tazdarī
- تَزْدَرِىٓ
- look down upon
- aʿyunukum
- أَعْيُنُكُمْ
- your eyes
- lan
- لَن
- never
- yu'tiyahumu
- يُؤْتِيَهُمُ
- will Allah give them
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- will Allah give them
- khayran
- خَيْرًاۖ
- any good
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- aʿlamu
- أَعْلَمُ
- knows best
- bimā
- بِمَا
- what
- fī
- فِىٓ
- (is) in
- anfusihim
- أَنفُسِهِمْۖ
- their souls
- innī
- إِنِّىٓ
- Indeed, I
- idhan
- إِذًا
- then
- lamina
- لَّمِنَ
- (will be) surely of
- l-ẓālimīna
- ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
- the wrongdoers"
And I do not tell you that I have the depositories [containing the provision] of Allah or that I know the unseen, nor do I tell you that I am an angel, nor do I say of those upon whom your eyes look down that Allah will never grant them any good. Allah is most knowing of what is within their souls. Indeed, I would then be among the wrongdoers [i.e., the unjust]." (QS. [11] Hud: 31)Tafsir
قَالُوْا يٰنُوْحُ قَدْ جَادَلْتَنَا فَاَ كْثَرْتَ جِدَالَنَا فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَآ اِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الصّٰدِقِيْنَ ٣٢
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- They said
- yānūḥu
- يَٰنُوحُ
- "O Nuh!
- qad
- قَدْ
- Indeed
- jādaltanā
- جَٰدَلْتَنَا
- you disputed with us
- fa-aktharta
- فَأَكْثَرْتَ
- and you (have been) frequent
- jidālanā
- جِدَٰلَنَا
- (in) dispute with us
- fatinā
- فَأْتِنَا
- So bring us
- bimā
- بِمَا
- what
- taʿidunā
- تَعِدُنَآ
- you threaten us (with)
- in
- إِن
- if
- kunta
- كُنتَ
- you are
- mina
- مِنَ
- of
- l-ṣādiqīna
- ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
- the truthful"
They said, "O Noah, you have disputed [i.e., opposed] us and been frequent in dispute of us. So bring us what you threaten us, if you should be of the truthful." (QS. [11] Hud: 32)Tafsir
قَالَ اِنَّمَا يَأْتِيْكُمْ بِهِ اللّٰهُ اِنْ شَاۤءَ وَمَآ اَنْتُمْ بِمُعْجِزِيْنَ ٣٣
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- innamā
- إِنَّمَا
- "Only
- yatīkum
- يَأْتِيكُم
- will bring it (on) you
- bihi
- بِهِ
- will bring it (on) you
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- in
- إِن
- if
- shāa
- شَآءَ
- He wills
- wamā
- وَمَآ
- and not
- antum
- أَنتُم
- you (are)
- bimuʿ'jizīna
- بِمُعْجِزِينَ
- one who (can) escape (it)
He said, "Allah will only bring it to you if He wills, and you will not cause [Him] failure. (QS. [11] Hud: 33)Tafsir
وَلَا يَنْفَعُكُمْ نُصْحِيْٓ اِنْ اَرَدْتُّ اَنْ اَنْصَحَ لَكُمْ اِنْ كَانَ اللّٰهُ يُرِيْدُ اَنْ يُّغْوِيَكُمْ ۗهُوَ رَبُّكُمْ ۗوَاِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُوْنَۗ ٣٤
- walā
- وَلَا
- And (will) not
- yanfaʿukum
- يَنفَعُكُمْ
- benefit you
- nuṣ'ḥī
- نُصْحِىٓ
- my advice
- in
- إِنْ
- (even) if
- aradttu
- أَرَدتُّ
- I wish
- an
- أَنْ
- to
- anṣaḥa
- أَنصَحَ
- [I] advise
- lakum
- لَكُمْ
- [to] you
- in
- إِن
- if
- kāna
- كَانَ
- it was Allah's
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- it was Allah's
- yurīdu
- يُرِيدُ
- will
- an
- أَن
- to
- yugh'wiyakum
- يُغْوِيَكُمْۚ
- let you go astray
- huwa
- هُوَ
- He (is)
- rabbukum
- رَبُّكُمْ
- your Lord
- wa-ilayhi
- وَإِلَيْهِ
- and to Him
- tur'jaʿūna
- تُرْجَعُونَ
- you will be returned"
And my advice will not benefit you – although I wished to advise you – if Allah should intend to put you in error. He is your Lord, and to Him you will be returned." (QS. [11] Hud: 34)Tafsir
اَمْ يَقُوْلُوْنَ افْتَرٰىهُۗ قُلْ اِنِ افْتَرَيْتُهٗ فَعَلَيَّ اِجْرَامِيْ وَاَنَا۠ بَرِيْۤءٌ مِّمَّا تُجْرِمُوْنَ ࣖ ٣٥
- am
- أَمْ
- Or
- yaqūlūna
- يَقُولُونَ
- (do) they say
- if'tarāhu
- ٱفْتَرَىٰهُۖ
- "He has invented it?"
- qul
- قُلْ
- Say
- ini
- إِنِ
- "If
- if'taraytuhu
- ٱفْتَرَيْتُهُۥ
- I have invented it
- faʿalayya
- فَعَلَىَّ
- then on me
- ij'rāmī
- إِجْرَامِى
- (is) my crime
- wa-anā
- وَأَنَا۠
- but I am
- barīon
- بَرِىٓءٌ
- innocent
- mimmā
- مِّمَّا
- of what
- tuj'rimūna
- تُجْرِمُونَ
- crimes you commit"
Or do they say [about Prophet Muhammad (^)], "He invented it"? Say, "If I have invented it, then upon me is [the consequence of] my crime; but I am innocent of what [crimes] you commit." (QS. [11] Hud: 35)Tafsir
وَاُوْحِيَ اِلٰى نُوْحٍ اَنَّهٗ لَنْ يُّؤْمِنَ مِنْ قَوْمِكَ اِلَّا مَنْ قَدْ اٰمَنَ فَلَا تَبْتَىِٕسْ بِمَا كَانُوْا يَفْعَلُوْنَۖ ٣٦
- waūḥiya
- وَأُوحِىَ
- And it was revealed
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- to
- nūḥin
- نُوحٍ
- Nuh
- annahu
- أَنَّهُۥ
- "That
- lan
- لَن
- will never
- yu'mina
- يُؤْمِنَ
- believe
- min
- مِن
- from
- qawmika
- قَوْمِكَ
- your people
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- man
- مَن
- (those) who
- qad
- قَدْ
- have already
- āmana
- ءَامَنَ
- believed
- falā
- فَلَا
- So (do) not
- tabta-is
- تَبْتَئِسْ
- (be) distressed
- bimā
- بِمَا
- by what
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- they have been
- yafʿalūna
- يَفْعَلُونَ
- doing
And it was revealed to Noah that, "No one will believe from your people except those who have already believed, so do not be distressed by what they have been doing. (QS. [11] Hud: 36)Tafsir
وَاصْنَعِ الْفُلْكَ بِاَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا وَلَا تُخَاطِبْنِيْ فِى الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوْا ۚاِنَّهُمْ مُّغْرَقُوْنَ ٣٧
- wa-iṣ'naʿi
- وَٱصْنَعِ
- And construct
- l-ful'ka
- ٱلْفُلْكَ
- the ship
- bi-aʿyuninā
- بِأَعْيُنِنَا
- under Our Eyes
- wawaḥyinā
- وَوَحْيِنَا
- and Our inspiration
- walā
- وَلَا
- and (do) not
- tukhāṭib'nī
- تُخَٰطِبْنِى
- address Me
- fī
- فِى
- concerning
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- ẓalamū
- ظَلَمُوٓا۟ۚ
- wronged;
- innahum
- إِنَّهُم
- indeed they (are)
- mugh'raqūna
- مُّغْرَقُونَ
- the ones (to be) drowned"
And construct the ship under Our observation and Our inspiration and do not address Me concerning those who have wronged; indeed, they are [to be] drowned." (QS. [11] Hud: 37)Tafsir
وَيَصْنَعُ الْفُلْكَۗ وَكُلَّمَا مَرَّ عَلَيْهِ مَلَاٌ مِّنْ قَوْمِهٖ سَخِرُوْا مِنْهُ ۗقَالَ اِنْ تَسْخَرُوْا مِنَّا فَاِنَّا نَسْخَرُ مِنْكُمْ كَمَا تَسْخَرُوْنَۗ ٣٨
- wayaṣnaʿu
- وَيَصْنَعُ
- And he was constructing
- l-ful'ka
- ٱلْفُلْكَ
- the ship
- wakullamā
- وَكُلَّمَا
- and every time
- marra
- مَرَّ
- passed
- ʿalayhi
- عَلَيْهِ
- by him
- mala-on
- مَلَأٌ
- (the) chiefs
- min
- مِّن
- of
- qawmihi
- قَوْمِهِۦ
- his people
- sakhirū
- سَخِرُوا۟
- they ridiculed
- min'hu
- مِنْهُۚ
- [of] him
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- in
- إِن
- "If
- taskharū
- تَسْخَرُوا۟
- you ridicule
- minnā
- مِنَّا
- us
- fa-innā
- فَإِنَّا
- then we
- naskharu
- نَسْخَرُ
- can ridicule
- minkum
- مِنكُمْ
- you
- kamā
- كَمَا
- as
- taskharūna
- تَسْخَرُونَ
- you ridicule
And he constructed the ship, and whenever an assembly of the eminent of his people passed by him, they ridiculed him. He said, "If you ridicule us, then we will ridicule you just as you ridicule. (QS. [11] Hud: 38)Tafsir
فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُوْنَۙ مَنْ يَّأْتِيْهِ عَذَابٌ يُّخْزِيْهِ وَيَحِلُّ عَلَيْهِ عَذَابٌ مُّقِيْمٌ ٣٩
- fasawfa
- فَسَوْفَ
- And soon
- taʿlamūna
- تَعْلَمُونَ
- you will know
- man
- مَن
- (on) whom
- yatīhi
- يَأْتِيهِ
- will come
- ʿadhābun
- عَذَابٌ
- a punishment
- yukh'zīhi
- يُخْزِيهِ
- (that) will disgrace him
- wayaḥillu
- وَيَحِلُّ
- and will descend
- ʿalayhi
- عَلَيْهِ
- on him
- ʿadhābun
- عَذَابٌ
- a punishment
- muqīmun
- مُّقِيمٌ
- lasting"
And you are going to know who will get a punishment that will disgrace him [on earth] and upon whom will descend an enduring punishment [in the Hereafter]." (QS. [11] Hud: 39)Tafsir
حَتّٰىٓ اِذَا جَاۤءَ اَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ التَّنُّوْرُۙ قُلْنَا احْمِلْ فِيْهَا مِنْ كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْنِ اثْنَيْنِ وَاَهْلَكَ اِلَّا مَنْ سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ الْقَوْلُ وَمَنْ اٰمَنَ ۗوَمَآ اٰمَنَ مَعَهٗٓ اِلَّا قَلِيْلٌ ٤٠
- ḥattā
- حَتَّىٰٓ
- Till
- idhā
- إِذَا
- when
- jāa
- جَآءَ
- came
- amrunā
- أَمْرُنَا
- Our command
- wafāra
- وَفَارَ
- and overflowed
- l-tanūru
- ٱلتَّنُّورُ
- the oven
- qul'nā
- قُلْنَا
- We said
- iḥ'mil
- ٱحْمِلْ
- "Load
- fīhā
- فِيهَا
- in it
- min
- مِن
- of
- kullin
- كُلٍّ
- every kind
- zawjayni
- زَوْجَيْنِ
- a pair
- ith'nayni
- ٱثْنَيْنِ
- two
- wa-ahlaka
- وَأَهْلَكَ
- and your family
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- man
- مَن
- who
- sabaqa
- سَبَقَ
- has preceded
- ʿalayhi
- عَلَيْهِ
- against him
- l-qawlu
- ٱلْقَوْلُ
- the word
- waman
- وَمَنْ
- and whoever
- āmana
- ءَامَنَۚ
- believed"
- wamā
- وَمَآ
- And not
- āmana
- ءَامَنَ
- believed
- maʿahu
- مَعَهُۥٓ
- with him
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- qalīlun
- قَلِيلٌ
- a few
[So it was], until when Our command came and the oven overflowed, We said, "Load upon it [i.e., the ship] of each [creature] two mates and your family, except those about whom the word [i.e., decree] has preceded, and [include] whoever has believed." But none had believed with him, except a few. (QS. [11] Hud: 40)Tafsir
