(Hud)

101

وَمَا ظَلَمْنٰهُمْ وَلٰكِنْ ظَلَمُوْٓا اَنْفُسَهُمْ فَمَآ اَغْنَتْ عَنْهُمْ اٰلِهَتُهُمُ الَّتِيْ يَدْعُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ لَّمَّا جَاۤءَ اَمْرُ رَبِّكَۗ وَمَا زَادُوْهُمْ غَيْرَ تَتْبِيْبٍ ١٠١

wamā
وَمَا
And not
ẓalamnāhum
ظَلَمْنَٰهُمْ
We wronged them
walākin
وَلَٰكِن
but
ẓalamū
ظَلَمُوٓا۟
they wronged
anfusahum
أَنفُسَهُمْۖ
themselves
famā
فَمَآ
So not
aghnat
أَغْنَتْ
availed
ʿanhum
عَنْهُمْ
them
ālihatuhumu
ءَالِهَتُهُمُ
their gods
allatī
ٱلَّتِى
which
yadʿūna
يَدْعُونَ
they invoked
min
مِن
other than Allah
dūni
دُونِ
other than Allah
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
other than Allah
min
مِن
any
shayin
شَىْءٍ
thing
lammā
لَّمَّا
when
jāa
جَآءَ
came
amru
أَمْرُ
(the) command (of) your Lord
rabbika
رَبِّكَۖ
(the) command (of) your Lord
wamā
وَمَا
And not
zādūhum
زَادُوهُمْ
they increased them
ghayra
غَيْرَ
other than
tatbībin
تَتْبِيبٍ
ruin
And We did not wrong them, but they wronged themselves. And they were not availed at all by their gods which they invoked other than Allah when there came the command of your Lord. And they did not increase them in other than ruin. (QS. [11] Hud: 101)
Tafsir
102

وَكَذٰلِكَ اَخْذُ رَبِّكَ اِذَآ اَخَذَ الْقُرٰى وَهِيَ ظَالِمَةٌ ۗاِنَّ اَخْذَهٗٓ اَلِيْمٌ شَدِيْدٌ ١٠٢

wakadhālika
وَكَذَٰلِكَ
And thus
akhdhu
أَخْذُ
(is) the seizure (of) your Lord
rabbika
رَبِّكَ
(is) the seizure (of) your Lord
idhā
إِذَآ
when
akhadha
أَخَذَ
He seizes
l-qurā
ٱلْقُرَىٰ
the cities
wahiya
وَهِىَ
while they
ẓālimatun
ظَٰلِمَةٌۚ
(are) doing wrong
inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
akhdhahu
أَخْذَهُۥٓ
His seizure
alīmun
أَلِيمٌ
(is) painful
shadīdun
شَدِيدٌ
(and) severe
And thus is the seizure of your Lord when He seizes the cities while they are committing wrong. Indeed, His seizure is painful and severe. (QS. [11] Hud: 102)
Tafsir
103

اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيَةً لِّمَنْ خَافَ عَذَابَ الْاٰخِرَةِ ۗذٰلِكَ يَوْمٌ مَّجْمُوْعٌۙ لَّهُ النَّاسُ وَذٰلِكَ يَوْمٌ مَّشْهُوْدٌ ١٠٣

inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
فِى
in
dhālika
ذَٰلِكَ
that
laāyatan
لَءَايَةً
(is) surely a Sign
liman
لِّمَنْ
for (those) who
khāfa
خَافَ
fear
ʿadhāba
عَذَابَ
(the) punishment
l-ākhirati
ٱلْءَاخِرَةِۚ
(of) the Hereafter
dhālika
ذَٰلِكَ
That
yawmun
يَوْمٌ
(is) a Day
majmūʿun
مَّجْمُوعٌ
(will) be gathered
lahu
لَّهُ
on it
l-nāsu
ٱلنَّاسُ
the mankind
wadhālika
وَذَٰلِكَ
and that
yawmun
يَوْمٌ
(is) a Day
mashhūdun
مَّشْهُودٌ
witnessed
Indeed in that is a sign for those who fear the punishment of the Hereafter. That is a Day for which the people will be collected, and that is a Day [which will be] witnessed. (QS. [11] Hud: 103)
Tafsir
104

وَمَا نُؤَخِّرُهٗٓ اِلَّا لِاَجَلٍ مَّعْدُوْدٍۗ ١٠٤

wamā
وَمَا
And not
nu-akhiruhu
نُؤَخِّرُهُۥٓ
We delay it
illā
إِلَّا
except
li-ajalin
لِأَجَلٍ
for a term
maʿdūdin
مَّعْدُودٍ
limited
And We do not delay it except for a limited term. (QS. [11] Hud: 104)
Tafsir
105

يَوْمَ يَأْتِ لَا تَكَلَّمُ نَفْسٌ اِلَّا بِاِذْنِهٖۚ فَمِنْهُمْ شَقِيٌّ وَّسَعِيْدٌ ١٠٥

yawma
يَوْمَ
(The) Day
yati
يَأْتِ
(it) comes
لَا
not
takallamu
تَكَلَّمُ
will speak
nafsun
نَفْسٌ
a soul
illā
إِلَّا
except
bi-idh'nihi
بِإِذْنِهِۦۚ
by His leave
famin'hum
فَمِنْهُمْ
Then among them
shaqiyyun
شَقِىٌّ
(will be the) wretched
wasaʿīdun
وَسَعِيدٌ
and (the) glad
The Day it comes no soul will speak except by His permission. And among them will be the wretched and the prosperous. (QS. [11] Hud: 105)
Tafsir
106

فَاَمَّا الَّذِيْنَ شَقُوْا فَفِى النَّارِ لَهُمْ فِيْهَا زَفِيْرٌ وَّشَهِيْقٌۙ ١٠٦

fa-ammā
فَأَمَّا
As for
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
shaqū
شَقُوا۟
were wretched
fafī
فَفِى
then (they will be) in
l-nāri
ٱلنَّارِ
the Fire
lahum
لَهُمْ
For them
fīhā
فِيهَا
therein
zafīrun
زَفِيرٌ
(is) sighing
washahīqun
وَشَهِيقٌ
and wailing
As for those who were [destined to be] wretched, they will be in the Fire. For them therein is [violent] exhaling and inhaling. (QS. [11] Hud: 106)
Tafsir
107

خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَا مَا دَامَتِ السَّمٰوٰتُ وَالْاَرْضُ اِلَّا مَا شَاۤءَ رَبُّكَۗ اِنَّ رَبَّكَ فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيْدُ ١٠٧

khālidīna
خَٰلِدِينَ
(Will be) abiding
fīhā
فِيهَا
therein
مَا
as long as remain
dāmati
دَامَتِ
as long as remain
l-samāwātu
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ
the heavens
wal-arḍu
وَٱلْأَرْضُ
and the earth
illā
إِلَّا
except
مَا
what your Lord wills
shāa
شَآءَ
what your Lord wills
rabbuka
رَبُّكَۚ
what your Lord wills
inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
rabbaka
رَبَّكَ
your Lord
faʿʿālun
فَعَّالٌ
(is) All-Accomplisher
limā
لِّمَا
of what
yurīdu
يُرِيدُ
He intends
[They will be] abiding therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except what your Lord should will. Indeed, your Lord is an effecter of what He intends. (QS. [11] Hud: 107)
Tafsir
108

۞ وَاَمَّا الَّذِيْنَ سُعِدُوْا فَفِى الْجَنَّةِ خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَا مَا دَامَتِ السَّمٰوٰتُ وَالْاَرْضُ اِلَّا مَا شَاۤءَ رَبُّكَۗ عَطَاۤءً غَيْرَ مَجْذُوْذٍ ١٠٨

wa-ammā
وَأَمَّا
And as for
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
suʿidū
سُعِدُوا۟
were glad
fafī
فَفِى
then (they will be) in
l-janati
ٱلْجَنَّةِ
Paradise
khālidīna
خَٰلِدِينَ
(will be) abiding
fīhā
فِيهَا
therein
مَا
as long as remains
dāmati
دَامَتِ
as long as remains
l-samāwātu
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ
the heavens
wal-arḍu
وَٱلْأَرْضُ
and the earth
illā
إِلَّا
except
مَا
what your Lord wills
shāa
شَآءَ
what your Lord wills
rabbuka
رَبُّكَۖ
what your Lord wills
ʿaṭāan
عَطَآءً
a bestowal
ghayra
غَيْرَ
not
majdhūdhin
مَجْذُوذٍ
interrupted
And as for those who were [destined to be] prosperous, they will be in Paradise, abiding therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except what your Lord should will – a bestowal uninterrupted. (QS. [11] Hud: 108)
Tafsir
109

فَلَا تَكُ فِيْ مِرْيَةٍ مِّمَّا يَعْبُدُ هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ ۗمَا يَعْبُدُوْنَ اِلَّا كَمَا يَعْبُدُ اٰبَاۤؤُهُمْ مِّنْ قَبْلُ ۗوَاِنَّا لَمُوَفُّوْهُمْ نَصِيْبَهُمْ غَيْرَ مَنْقُوْصٍ ࣖ ١٠٩

falā
فَلَا
So (do) not
taku
تَكُ
be
فِى
in
mir'yatin
مِرْيَةٍ
doubt
mimmā
مِّمَّا
as to what
yaʿbudu
يَعْبُدُ
worship
hāulāi
هَٰٓؤُلَآءِۚ
these (polytheists)
مَا
Not
yaʿbudūna
يَعْبُدُونَ
they worship
illā
إِلَّا
except
kamā
كَمَا
as what
yaʿbudu
يَعْبُدُ
worshipped
ābāuhum
ءَابَآؤُهُم
their forefathers
min
مِّن
before
qablu
قَبْلُۚ
before
wa-innā
وَإِنَّا
And indeed, We
lamuwaffūhum
لَمُوَفُّوهُمْ
will surely pay them in full
naṣībahum
نَصِيبَهُمْ
their share
ghayra
غَيْرَ
without
manqūṣin
مَنقُوصٍ
being diminished
So do not be in doubt, [O Muhammad], as to what these [polytheists] are worshipping. They worship not except as their fathers worshipped before. And indeed, We will give them their share undiminished. (QS. [11] Hud: 109)
Tafsir
110

وَلَقَدْ اٰتَيْنَا مُوْسَى الْكِتٰبَ فَاخْتُلِفَ فِيْهِ ۗوَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِنْ رَّبِّكَ لَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ ۚوَاِنَّهُمْ لَفِيْ شَكٍّ مِّنْهُ مُرِيْبٍ ١١٠

walaqad
وَلَقَدْ
And verily
ātaynā
ءَاتَيْنَا
We gave
mūsā
مُوسَى
Musa
l-kitāba
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the Book
fa-ukh'tulifa
فَٱخْتُلِفَ
but differences arose
fīhi
فِيهِۚ
therein
walawlā
وَلَوْلَا
And if not
kalimatun
كَلِمَةٌ
(for) a Word
sabaqat
سَبَقَتْ
(that) preceded
min
مِن
from
rabbika
رَّبِّكَ
your Lord
laquḍiya
لَقُضِىَ
surely would have been judged
baynahum
بَيْنَهُمْۚ
between them
wa-innahum
وَإِنَّهُمْ
And indeed they
lafī
لَفِى
surely (are) in
shakkin
شَكٍّ
doubt
min'hu
مِّنْهُ
concerning it
murībin
مُرِيبٍ
suspicious
And We had certainly given Moses the Scripture, but it came under disagreement. And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord, it would have been judged between them. And indeed they are, concerning it [i.e., the Quran], in disquieting doubt. (QS. [11] Hud: 110)
Tafsir
