Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Ma'un Verse 2
Al-Ma'un [107]: 2 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
فَذٰلِكَ الَّذِيْ يَدُعُّ الْيَتِيْمَۙ (الماعون : ١٠٧)
- fadhālika
- فَذَٰلِكَ
- Then that
- alladhī
- ٱلَّذِى
- (is) the one who
- yaduʿʿu
- يَدُعُّ
- repulses
- l-yatīma
- ٱلْيَتِيمَ
- the orphan
Transliteration:
Fa zaalikal lazi yadu'ul-yateem(QS. al-Maʿūn:2)
English / Sahih Translation:
For that is the one who drives away the orphan. (QS. Al-Ma'un, ayah 2)

Tafsir jalalayn
That is he (read an implied huwa after the f' [of fa-dhlika]) who repels the orphan, that is to say, [who] violently drives him away from what is his due,
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
That is he who repulses the orphan,
meaning, he is the one who oppresses the orphan and does not give him his just due. He does not feed him, nor is he kind to him.
وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَى طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ
