Surah Al-'Asr - Word by Word
(The Declining Day)

اِنَّ الْاِنْسَانَ لَفِيْ خُسْرٍۙ ٢
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-insāna
- ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ
- mankind
- lafī
- لَفِى
- (is) surely in
- khus'rin
- خُسْرٍ
- loss
Indeed, mankind is in loss, (QS. [103] Al-'Asr: 2)Tafsir

اِلَّا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْحَقِّ ەۙ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ ࣖ ٣
- illā
- إِلَّا
- Except
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- believe
- waʿamilū
- وَعَمِلُوا۟
- and do
- l-ṣāliḥāti
- ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
- righteous deeds
- watawāṣaw
- وَتَوَاصَوْا۟
- and enjoin each other
- bil-ḥaqi
- بِٱلْحَقِّ
- to the truth
- watawāṣaw
- وَتَوَاصَوْا۟
- and enjoin each other
- bil-ṣabri
- بِٱلصَّبْرِ
- to [the] patience
Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience. (QS. [103] Al-'Asr: 3)Tafsir
