Al-Qur'an Surah At-Takathur Verse 7

At-Takathur [102]: 7 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ الْيَقِيْنِۙ (التكاثر : ١٠٢)

Then

لَتَرَوُنَّهَا
surely you will see it
ʿayna
عَيْنَ
(with the) eye
l-yaqīni
ٱلْيَقِينِ
(of) certainty

Transliteration:

Thumma latara wunnaha 'ainal yaqeen (QS. at-Takāthur:7)

English / Sahih Translation:

Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty. (QS. At-Takathur, ayah 7)

Tafsir jalalayn

Again, you will surely see it -- [repeated] for emphasis -- with the eye of certainty (`ayna is a verbal noun, as both ra' and `yana have the same meaning).

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

Verily, you shall see the blazing Fire! And again you shall see it with certainty of sight!)

This is the explanation of the previous threat which was in Allah's saying,

كَلَّ سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ثُمَّ كَلَّ سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ

Nay! you shall come to know! Again nay! you shall come to know!

Thus, Allah threatens them with this situation, which is what the people of the Fire will see. It is a Fire, which if it exhaled one breath, every angel who is near (to Allah) and every Prophet who was sent would all fall down on their knees due to fear, awe and the sight of its horrors.

This is based upon what has been reported in the narrations concerning it.

Allah then says,

ثُمَّ لَتُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَيِذٍ عَنِ النَّعِيمِ
