Yunus [10]: 67 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

هُوَ الَّذِيْ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الَّيْلَ لِتَسْكُنُوْا فِيْهِ وَالنَّهَارَ مُبْصِرًا ۗاِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَّسْمَعُوْنَ (يونس : ١٠)

Indeed

ذَٰلِكَ

laāyātin
لَءَايَٰتٍ
surely (are) Signs
liqawmin
لِّقَوْمٍ
for a people
yasmaʿūna
يَسْمَعُونَ
(who) listen

Transliteration:

Huwal lazee ja'ala lakumul laila litaskunoo feehi wannahaara mubsiraa; inna fee zaalika la Aayaatil liqawmai yasma'oon (QS. al-Yūnus:67)

English / Sahih Translation:

It is He who made for you the night to rest therein and the day, giving sight. Indeed in that are signs for a people who listen. (QS. Yunus, ayah 67)

He is the One who made for you the night, so that you may have rest in it, and (made) the day to see. Indeed, there are signs therein for a people who listen.

It is Allah alone Who has made the night that you may rest in it, and has made the day light-giving. Surely in that there are signs for those who give heed (to the call of the Messenger).

It is He who made the night for you to rest, and made the day enlightening. Indeed there are signs in this for those who listen.

It is He Who created the night for you so that you may gain rest in it and the day giving sight; indeed in this are signs for the people who heed.

It is He who made the night for you, that you may rest in it, and the day to provide visibility. There are indeed signs in that for people who listen.

It is He Who has made for you the night so that you may rest in it, and the day, sight-giving (for you to work in). Surely in this are signs (manifesting the truth) for people who hear and pay heed (to God’s Revelations, and view things and events in their light).

It is He Who made for you the night (dark) so that you may rest in it, and (Who) made the day full of light (that you may work in it). Surely, in this there are many signs for the people who would listen (to the Messages of God).

English Literal

He is who made/created for you the night to be tranquil/quiet in it, and the daytime to see , that in that (are) evidences/signs (E) to a nation hearing/listening.140

It is He Who created the night for you so that you may gain rest in it and the day giving sight; indeed in this are signs for the people who heed.

Lo! Is it not unto Allah that belongs whoever is in the heavens and whoever is in the earth? What then do they follow who call on associates other than Allah? Verily, they follow nothing but fantasy, and verily, they do naught but lie (or guess).

Now, surely, whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth is Allahs. And what do follow those who call on associates besides Allah? They follow naught but conjecture, and they only lie.

It is He who has made the night dark for you so that you may rest in it, and the day a source of light. Surely, there are signs in this for a people who listen.

It is He who made the night for your rest, and the daylight for visibility. Surely in that are signs for people who listen.

Tafsir jalalayn

He it is Who made for you the night that you should rest therein, and the day to see; the attribution of sight (ibsr) to `the day' is figurative, since one is able to see during it. Surely in that are signs, indications of His Oneness, exalted be He, for a folk who are able to hear, hearing [in such a way so as] to reflect and be admonished.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

هُوَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ اللَّيْلَ لِتَسْكُنُواْ فِيهِ


He it is Who has appointed for you the night that you may rest therein, and the day to make things visible (to you).

Allah informed us that He is the One Who made the night for His servants to rest therein from weariness and exhaustion.

وَالنَّهَارَ مُبْصِرًا

And the day to make things visible (to you).

bright and clear for them to seek livelihood and to travel to fulfill their needs.

إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لايَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَسْمَعُونَ



Verily, in this are Ayat for a people who listen.

Those who hear these proofs and take a lesson from them. These Ayat can lead them to realize the greatness of their Creator and Sustainer
